Position Summary
Under the direction of a Teachers’ Retirement Examiner 2 (SG-15), the Office Assistant 2 is responsible for updating and maintaining records pertaining to members, retirees and participating employers. The Office Assistant 2-Calculations is responsible for performing complex operations involving the gathering, reviewing and input of data required in the calculation of a retirement allowance, death benefit or other member-related benefits.
The Member Relations Division is seeking to fill multiple vacancies in this title.
NY HELPS Program Information
Minimum Qualifications
Either 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list; OR 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2/Office Assistant 2-Calculations (SG-9); OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of the Civil Service Law by virtue of having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.
To be appointed via the NYHELPS program, you must meet the following requirements:
Office Assistant 2-One year of clerical experience.
Office Assistant 2-Calculations-One year of experience where most work time is spent performing mathematical operations, and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.
